Caleb and Jamie Berney
[email protected]

Caleb and Jamie Berney have been married for 22 years and have 3 children, Marshall, Railey, and Asher. They also have custody of their grandson, Elijah McAdams. Caleb is a finance manager at Chevyland in Shreveport and Jamie is a stay-at-home mom. They began their homeschooling journey in 2010 and truly stand on the scripture that says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” They firmly believe that homeschooling is an integral component in following this scripture. Upon choosing to homeschool, they decided being plugged into a homeschool group was important and joined CFE in 2010. CFE has provided fundamental support in their homeschooling adventure.

The Berney family attended Word of God Ministries in Shreveport for 13 years and recently changed to Cypress Baptist Church in Benton. Both Caleb and Jamie accepted Jesus Christ as lord and savior in their youth, but truly began yielding to and serving His purpose in adulthood. They believe that serving in their church, homeschool group, and community is not only a responsibility, but also a privilege. They believe that serving on the CFE board is truly a ministry of serving our homeschool community.

Keith and Nicole Gorman

Keith and Nicole Gorman have been married for 15 years and have 2 children, Eliana and Asher. Keith is employed with Morgan GMC in Bossier City as General Manager. Nicole was formerly employed in the educational field, but her current chosen profession is stay at home mom.

They attend Northpoint Community Church, where they serve in several areas throughout the church and community. Keith and Nicole came to faith at a young age but didn’t begin to be fully surrendered until they were in their twenties. They both feel that giving their lives to Christ was the best and most vitally important decision they have ever made. Their greatest desire is to bring glory to God and build His kingdom.

Keith and Nicole are extremely thankful that homeschooling allows them to give their children an education built on the foundation of God’s word and lead them into a Biblical worldview. CFE is a great blessing to their family, as it gives them the opportunity to be in community with like-minded families. They are honored to serve as members of the board and are excited to be witnesses to what the Lord will do in and through CFE.

Gralen and Deann Mangum

Gralen and Deann Mangum have been married for 40 years. They joined CFE in 1992 and have homeschooled all twelve of their children and a few of their grands. They are currently home schooling their last daughter, Jolie, 16 yrs.

Gralen was led to the Lord by his mom at VBS in 1970 at 6 years old. He then followed the Lord in baptism with his dad baptizing him in 1972 at Barron Road Baptist Church in Keithville, La. Deann received Christ as her personal Savior in Missionettes class at church when she was 9 years old. As a young adult she rededicated her life and then followed the Lord in baptism @ Baptist Tabernacle where they were serving the Lord at that time. They are currently members and serving at Shreveport Baptist Temple.

Gralen and Deann have raised their children in church and taught them to Study, Work and Serve, as this is the motto of their school, Mangum Advanced Academy.

The Mangums would like to see Christian Family Educators grow and support many homeschooling families in their journey as they teach their children a Christ centered education. They are honored to serve on the CFE board again this year and look forward to supporting and having fun as we all teach our children together.
